Ballantyne has partnered with Millers Limited to launch the Ballantyne Butter and Spreadable range into Cargills Food City Supermarkets in Sri Lanka.
“The Sri Lankan people traditionally consume dairy as part of their diet” says Aaron Christian, Ballantyne’s Export Sales Manager for the region. “Ballantyne are proud to be leading the way in sharing premium quality Australian Butter with the people of this beautiful Island.”
Cargills Food City is the largest grocery retailer in the country, with over 280 outlets covering the Island equating to 42% market share.
The Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and The Maldives Bryce Hutchesson was the guest of honour at the launch, which was held at Cargill’s Food City’s flagship store. “I am delighted to launch an Australian Icon into Sri Lankan supermarkets”, His Excellency tweeted after the event, in which he adhered to the symbolic tradition of handing over the first packs of butter from Ballantyne to Cargills.
Ballantyne’s Butter and Spreadable range now available in Cargills Food City, with further ranging in Aprico Supermarkets and Keells Supermarkets soon to follow.
