Apple and Oat Crumble with Cinnamon

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Ballantyne Spreadable Lighter with Chia Oil (reserve 1/4 cup)
  • 3/4 cup honey (reserve 1/2 cup)
  • 8 medium apples, peeled, cored and cut into bite size pieces
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon (reserve 1/2 tsp)
  • 1 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/4 cup gluten free flour
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk
  • 1/8 tsp sea salt (to taste)

Apple and Oat Crumble with Cinnamon

Method

Step 1
Preheat oven to 180c/350F
Step 2
Place apples in a large bowl
Step 3
Melt 1/2 cup Ballantyne Spreadable Lighter with Chia Oil, 1/4 cup honey and 1 tsp cinnamon
Step 4
Pour over apple, mix and place in a medium-large baking dish
Step 5
Melt the remaining Ballantyne Spreadable Lighter with Chia Oil, honey and cinnamon
Step 6
Place the oats, coconut, flour and salt in a bowl and pour over the melted ingredients and coconut milk and gently mix well
Step 7
Evenly spread on top of the apple mixture
Step 8
Bake for 30-40 minutes
Step 9
If browning too quickly, lightly cover with baking paper
